About the lab.

Who we are, what we carry, and how we got here.

Why is the catalog so small?

The catalog is small because the standard is high. Every product on this site has been tested by working pros and signed off before we listed it. Most gear we test doesn't make the floor — and that's the whole point.

We'd rather carry less of what works than more of what doesn't. As we test more brands and products, the list will grow — but only when something actually earns the slot. More on how we curate →

Are you a real shop or a marketing site?

Real shop. We're an authorized dealer for every brand on this site, with direct dealer agreements in both the US and UK. When you order, the product ships from the brand's authorized supply chain — not from a parallel-import warehouse.

The two people running it are listed on our About page.

Do brands pay to be on this site?

No. No brand pays to be on this site, in The Lab, or in any of our recommendations. The list is earned, never bought. If a brand's gear doesn't pass the test, no amount of co-marketing budget changes that.

Why don't you carry [brand X]?

One of three reasons:

  • We tested it and it didn't earn the slot
  • We haven't tested it yet (the list grows as we vet more)
  • The brand doesn't offer authorized dealer agreements that meet our standard

Where are you based?

We operate in both the US and UK markets. James handles US operations and the digital build; Rob is UK-based and handles testing/curation. Both markets have direct dealer authorization for every brand we carry.

Getting it to you.

Rates, transit times, and what happens when something goes wrong in the delivery chain.

When is shipping free?

Free US shipping on orders over $99. Below that, standard ground rates apply at checkout. The cart drawer shows you how close you are to the threshold so you can size up if you want to.

UK shipping rates are calculated separately at checkout based on destination.

How long does delivery take?

Most US orders ship within 1–2 business days and arrive in 3–5 business days via standard ground. Expedited options are available at checkout if you need it sooner.

UK orders ship from our UK fulfillment with similar timing — 1–2 days to ship, 2–4 days in transit.

Larger items (sim enclosures, hitting mats) ship freight and timing varies by destination — you'll see exact estimates at checkout.

Do you ship internationally beyond US/UK?

Currently US and UK only. We'd rather ship right to two markets than cut corners in twenty. Customs, duties, and import-side support take real infrastructure — when we expand, we'll do it deliberately.

What if my package is lost or damaged?

Email us within 7 days of the expected delivery date with your order number. We file the carrier claim and ship a replacement — you don't deal with the carrier directly. The brand's authorized warranty covers any damage that happens after delivery.

Can I change my shipping address after ordering?

If the order hasn't shipped yet, yes — email us within a few hours of ordering and we'll update it. Once it's in transit, the carrier handles address changes and we can't reroute on your behalf.

If it doesn't earn its place.

30 days. No interrogation.

What's your return policy?

30 days from delivery. If the product doesn't earn its place in your bag, send it back for a refund.

No restocking fee on unopened items. Opened items are returnable within the same window — we don't interrogate, we just want it back in resaleable condition (no scratches, no missing parts, original packaging where possible).

How do I start a return?

Email us with your order number and we'll send you a prepaid return label. You drop it off, we refund within 5 business days of receipt. You don't print labels, fill out forms, or talk to a chatbot — a person reads your email.

Are returns free?

Free within the US and UK. We pay return shipping for any reason within the 30-day window, on every order over $99.

Below $99, return shipping is at customer expense. We're a small shop and the math doesn't work otherwise — but we'll never argue with a real reason for returning something below threshold.

Are there items that can't be returned?

Custom-built or made-to-order items (some simulator enclosure configurations) are non-refundable once the build starts. We'll flag this clearly at checkout — if a product is non-returnable, you'll know before you confirm.

Otherwise, everything in the catalog is returnable within 30 days.

What about warranty issues after 30 days?

Every brand we carry has a manufacturer warranty (typically 1–2 years on electronics, longer on hardware). We're an authorized dealer, so warranty claims go through us — you don't deal with the brand directly.

If something fails inside the warranty window, email us with the order number and a description. We handle the claim end-to-end.

Why "authorized" matters and what it means for your purchase.

What does "authorized dealer" actually mean?

It means we have direct, written agreements with every brand we carry. Inventory comes from the brand's authorized supply chain. Warranty claims are honored. The product you receive is the product the brand stands behind.

Compare that to grey-market or parallel-import retailers — same product on the surface, but the brand's warranty often won't honor it because the chain of custody isn't verified.

Are warranties honored on items bought here?

Yes — full manufacturer warranty on every product in the catalog. Because we're authorized, the brand recognizes the sale and honors the warranty for the full term.

If I have a brand-specific question, do I contact you or the brand?

Either works. We can answer most product-fit and curation questions directly — that's our actual expertise. For deep technical questions (firmware, specific software issues), we'll route you to the brand's tech support and stay in the loop on the resolution.

Are prices the same as buying direct from the brand?

Generally, yes — authorized dealer pricing is set by the brand at MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) for most products. You're not paying a markup vs. buying direct. What you get on top is curation, US/UK support, and a single shop that vets the whole experience.

That's the actual job. Email us with a few details — your handicap range, where you mostly play, what you're trying to improve, your budget — and we'll come back with a real recommendation. Not a sales pitch, just what we'd actually start with.

My product isn't working. What do I do?

Email us with the order number and a description of what's happening. For most issues, we can troubleshoot directly. For deep technical fixes, we'll involve the brand's support and stay on the thread until it's resolved.

Do you offer setup help for simulator enclosures or hitting bays?

Yes, in the form of guidance and pre-purchase consultation. We don't do in-person installation — but we'll walk through your space dimensions, flooring, ceiling height, electrical, and product compatibility before you buy. That's free.

Can I get a discount for buying multiple products?

Authorized dealer pricing means we can't discount below MAP without breaking dealer agreements. Bundles where the brand has approved a multi-product price get listed as bundles — those are real savings. Otherwise, prices are what they are.
